WateReuse Hosts Water Sector, Government to Facilitate Input on EPA’s Water Reuse Action Plan

Date: May 13, 2019

The WateReuse Association joined with other national water associations on May 9 to host a second convening of representatives from the water sector and government to facilitate input on the US Environmental Protection Agency’s development of a Water Reuse Action Plan. The meeting was held at Alexandria Renew Enterprises in Alexandria, Virginia.

EPA Assistant Administrator for Water Dave Ross announced in February that the agency would facilitate the development of a National Water Reuse Action Plan that will better integrate federal policy and leverage the expertise of both industry and government to ensure the effective use of the nation’s water resources. WateReuse hosted an initial convening of representatives from the water sector and government on April 18 in Los Angeles. WateReuse will use the feedback gathered from the two workshops and a member survey to offer input on the action plan during EPA’s public comment period.

WateReuse is also hosting a webcast on May 21 to help members better understand how they can participate in the process. EPA will release a draft of the Water Reuse Action Plan during the 34th Annual WateReuse Symposium, September 8-11, 2019, in San Diego, California.
