2021 WRCA Annual Conference COVID-19 Protocols
WateReuse California (WRCA) is excited to welcome you to the 2021 WRCA Annual Conference. We are planning to be hybrid this year and are excited for the opportunity to see many of our members face to face in a safe manner. For those who are unable to attend in-person, we look forward to connecting with you in the virtual environment.
Safety Protocols
This information is current as of Friday, August 27, but may be updated closer to the conference if conditions change. Currently in Los Angeles County, everyone 2 years of age and older must wear a mask in all indoor public settings, regardless of their vaccination status, which includes all WRCA conference events. You may remove your mask while actively eating or drinking, but please put it back on when finished. You can find detailed information on the mask mandate here.
In addition to the facemask requirement, WRCA is requesting that all attendees be vaccinated or have a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours of attending the conference. WRCA is relying on the honor system in making this request and appreciates your cooperation to ensure a safe experience for all of us.
When you attend the conference, you will also notice that seating will be farther apart to allow physical distancing. For example, tables that usually seat ten people will now seat five. The JW Marriott LA LIVE has a complete list of their updated COVID-19 protocols and practices here.
As a reminder, anyone feeling sick or displaying symptoms of COVID-19, or who has been in contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, should refrain from traveling and attending the conference.
Virtual Environment
All attendees, including those registered for the in-person conference, will have access to the virtual environment. The link for the virtual environment will be emailed on Friday, September 17 and the site will open on Sunday, September 19. The Opening Plenary Session, the Awards Luncheon, the Gordon Cologne Breakfast, and the Town Hall Plenary, along with all the in-person panel discussions, will be livestreamed. The recordings of those sessions will be available within 48 hours. All the content in the virtual environment will be available until October 31, 2021.
We are looking forward to seeing you in September. If you have any questions, please reach out to Alicia Rutherford at arutherford@watereuse.org.
