Student Contest

WateReuse Association, the nation’s only trade association solely dedicated to advancing laws, policy, funding, and public acceptance of recycled water, is sponsoring an art and TikTok contest about the water cycle and water reuse for students in the southeast.

Submission Deadline: Monday, January 6, 2023

All students in public, private, and homeschool students in the states of Georgia, Florida, and South Carolina are eligible. All students will receive a certificate of recognition and prizes will be awarded to winners in each category. Winning submissions will be showcased at the 2023 WateReuse Symposium in Atlanta.

Art Contest: 1st – 8th grade

Create a drawing, painting or graphic design piece about how our water can be recycled – by nature or by people.

  • Submissions must be in JPEG or PNG format.
  • Artwork must be an original work of the student. No art containing a copyrighted graphic, photographs, collages, or trademarked art will be accepted.
  • By submitting an entry form and a permission form you will be agreeing to all guidelines and policies.

TikTok Contest: 9th – 12th grade

(Ages 13-18)

Create a 30-60 second TikTok video on water reuse facts, themes, or career opportunities.

Rules & Instructions

  • All videos must be 30-60 seconds long while adhering to TikTok’s policies and remaining clean and non-inflammatory.
  • TikToks must include the hashtags #ReimaginingWater, #WateReuse2023, and #WorldWaterDay and the @watereuse account.
  • All TikToks must be set to public access.
  • Artwork must be an original work of the student. No art containing a copyrighted graphic, photographs, collages, or trademarked art will be accepted.

Instead of using water just once in our homes and businesses and returning it to the environment, technology is used to clean it so that we can use it over and over again in our homes, in our businesses, and to protect the environment.
