2027 WateReuse Symposium

Awards for Excellence

Deadline: October 29, 2026

WateReuse will recognize trailblazing projects and individuals onstage in Las Vegas for the 2027 Awards for Excellence. Recipients exhibit leadership in advancing education, advocacy, technology, or management of water resources, showcasing innovative approaches that others can follow to build resilient communities through water recycling.

The Water Research Foundation is the presenting partner of the Annual WateReuse Symposium.

Accomodations at Caesars Palace

The 2027 Symposium will take place at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada. A special room rate of $259/night plus tax has been arranged for a limited number of rooms. The discounted room rate will be available until February 7, 2027, or when the block of rooms fills up, whichever comes first.

Reuse on the Strip

Monday, March 1: 8 AM- Noon
Max. 28 participants | $65

Las Vegas’ entertainment economy keeps the fun flowing with water recycling systems. Stops will include:

Mandalay Bay Shark Reef Aquarium: Learn how aquarium managers use state-of-the-art water treatment equipment to maintain a healthy environment for more than 2,000 animals including sharks, giant rays, exotic fish, endangered green sea turtles, piranha, and a Komodo dragon.

Fountains of Bellagio: Go behind the scenes of the iconic water show with a fountain control engineer. Learn how engineers recycle water, protect public health, maintain systems, and create an unforgettable experience.

Clark County Reclamation

Monday, March 1: 1 PM-5 PM
Max. 28 participants | $65

Tour of Clark County Water Reclamation District’s Flamingo Water Resource Center, to understand how wastewater from unincorporated Clark County, including much of the Las Vegas Strip and surrounding communities, is collected, treated, and transformed into high-quality reclaimed water. Participants will see key treatment processes in action, including preliminary screening, biological treatment basins, UV disinfection, and dewatering operations. They will also learn how CCWRD manages an average flow of 110 million gallons per day, plans for future capacity needs, and applies science, engineering, and operations expertise to support a sustainable water future for Southern Nevada.

Hoover Dam

Thursday, March 4: 1 PM-5 PM
Max. 50 participants | $100

Completed in 1936, the Hoover Dam has changed the landscape of water in the western United States. The dam impounds Lake Mead, which receives purified recycled water from Southern Nevada and supplies Arizona, California, Nevada, and parts of Mexico.

A private, guided hard hat tour of the dam will include the powerplant/ generator floor, tail bay, and machine shop as well as the popular visitor center and observation deck. The tour is one hour long and includes 1/2 mile of walking.

Letter of Invitation Policy

Symposium participants who require an invitation letter to enter the United States must first register and pay for the Symposium before a Letter of Invitation will be issued. Once your registration is complete, you may request the Letter of Invitation by emailing symposium@watereuse.org.
