Leaders in Water Reuse Elected to the Board of Directors

The WateReuse Association elected three new members to serve on the Board of Directors at the Annual Membership Meeting held September 10 during the 33rd Annual WateReuse Symposium in Austin, Texas. The following individuals will begin serving a two-year term in January 2019:

Katherine (Kati) Bell serves as Brown and Caldwell’s Director of Water Strategy, which includes working with clients, regulators, and other industry leaders to identify efficient, sustainable solutions in water. Ms. Bell has served as technical director for water, wastewater and reuse projects summing to over 3 billion gallons per day of capacity and she was the project manager for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s 2012 Guidelines for Water Reuse.

Marilyn Hall is Senior Water Resources Planner for the Public Utilities Department of Athens-Clarke County, Georgia and is responsible for implementing the water reuse program. Ms. Hall has spent more than 20 years in Environmental Planning and Public Utilities. Her leadership roles have included service as Vice-Chair of the Georgia Association of Water Professionals’ Reuse Committee, Chair of the Georgia WaterWise Council, and as a former Board Member of the Georgia Association of Water Professionals.

Joe Vesey is Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer of Xylem. Mr. Vesey leads the company’s marketing function including vertical marketing, commercial IT, global public affairs, branding, communications, digital marketing and commercial excellence. He has advocated in Washington for expanded reuse standards and goals; worked with Xylem’s global commercial teams and customers to successfully startup reuse projects; and spoken at industry events advocating for expanding sources of water to include reuse.

Two board members were also reelected to continue their service on the Board of Directors. Gilbert Trejo, Chief Technical Officer at El Paso Water, and Hallla Razak, General Manager of Inland Empire Utilities Agency, will both serve a third term.

Mike Markus, General Manager of the Orange County Water District, and Jon Loveland, Global Practice Leader at Black & Veatch, will conclude their service on the Board of Directors at the end of this year.
