Mission
The mission of the WateReuse Illinois Chapter is to advance the safe, sustainable use of recycled water across Illinois through education, advocacy, collaboration, and innovation. We bring together public agencies, industry, academia, and other stakeholders to support resilient water systems, protect natural resources, and promote the environmental and economic benefits of water reuse.
Vision
Our vision is a future where water reuse is a central component of Illinois’s water management strategy—supporting thriving communities, resilient ecosystems, and climate-smart infrastructure from Chicago to downstate. We envision Illinois as a national leader in integrating water reuse into planning, policy, and practice across municipal, industrial, and agricultural sectors.
Purpose
The purpose of the WateReuse Illinois Chapter is to promote the development and implementation of water reuse policies and projects throughout the state. We serve as a forum for sharing knowledge, fostering collaboration, and supporting statewide efforts to enhance water security, sustainability, and resilience through reuse.
