Last month, the Las Vegas Review-Journal interviewed Alan Wolfley, Operations Supervisor at the North Las Vegas Water Reclamation Facility, who explained his career journey towards reclaimed water and provided an overview of the facility’s functionality. One of the first staffers hired upon the opening of the plant in 2011, Wolfley transitioned to the water reclamation facility after holding a water distribution position in Moapa Valley. In the interview, Wolfley explained his role as not only securing the region’s water supply but, as a result, maintaining Las Vegas’ unique spirit: “In the desert, water is a precious commodity, and North Las Vegas gets to take part in putting some of that water back into the environment and help preserve Las Vegas’ way of life,” he explained. The interview encompasses Wolfley’s career journey, evolving thoughts on water reuse and conservation, and the facility’s plans for expansion. |
