Vandertulip Best Presentation Award

The 2024 Vandertulip Award was presented to Eva Steinle-Darling, PhD, PE, Water Reuse Technical Practice Director and Senior Vice President at Carollo Engineers, at this year’s WateReuse Texas Conference for her presentation Why Potable Reuse is Ahead of the PFAS Game: Lessons from WRF 5082. The presentation looked at findings from recent research into PFAS and provided insight into management strategies, starting with source control and then taking a page from established reuse treatment practices. It highlighted that what’s working in potable reuse, an area that has decades of experience with this issue, can be applied to other areas of water treatment.

Conference attendees selected the presentation from more than 25 others at the three-day event. The Vandertulip Award was established in 2019 to honor long-time WateReuse Texas contributor William “Don” Vandertulip, who helped shape many past WRTX Conference programs.
