About the difference management makes

Properly managing water, plants, and soil is advisable for any landscape, regardless of the type of water used for irrigation.

If the recycled water used for irrigation contains certain amounts of salt and certain concentrations of ions, if the plants tolerate those amounts and concentrations, and if the soil is sufficiently permeable, then routine management of the landscape may be all that's needed. If any of these conditions are absent, then extra measures will be needed.
