CA: Soquel Completes Construction of Water Recycling Project

Last week, WateReuse member Soquel Creek Water District completed construction of its Pure Water Soquel project, a $200 million endeavor that involved constructing miles of underground pipes, a new treatment facility, and three injection wells. Pure Water Soquel will treat water with microfiltration, reverse osmosis, and ultraviolet light with hydrogen peroxide before injecting it into the groundwater basin to replenish overdrawn groundwater and mitigate seawater intrusion. NC: H2O Innovation Announces Opening of WaterHub at Reynolds Operations Facility

WateReuse member H2O Innovation announced the opening of a new WaterHub facility at Reynolds Operations Center last week. The new facility will capture a combined wastewater stream from the plant, treating it through advanced membrane filtration and disinfection to North Carolina reclaimed water standards, and reintroduce it as intake water for factory utilities. The facility is expected to reclaim 60 million gallons per year, reducing water withdrawn by more than 40%. Guillaume Clairet, WateReuse Board Member and Chief Operating Officer of H2O Innovation, applauded Reynolds' investment recycled water: "The WaterHub is an example of how innovation can advance both sustainability and resilience," he said.
